Greenhouse Effect in 1992

George Bush - the green house effect - 1992

I made his cartoon after the UN Conference on Environment and Development at Rio de Janeiro in 1992.  US president George Bush dropped by but missed the point… Even today the majority of the leading politicians seem to have the similar nonchalant attitude towards global warming. Fortunately the present US president is not one of them.

  1. Wendy says:

Love this! Hopefully President Obama will continue to make us proud.

It has been a real joy to look the big change in US policy. And so far Obama has kept what he has promised.

In Finland we have now an environmentally aware female president Tarja Halonen. (who also looks like Conan O’Brien :) ) But it seems that our next president will be right-wing anti-environmental fellow traveler of big corporations… At least that is what our media wants us to believe. We really need to find our own “Obama” here!
